# Update Over Time
* VESSEL's use the "/blockhash" recursive endpoint to find the Hash of the most recently mined block. They they use that as a seed to generate the background of the piece, which consists of a base color, and a trig-powered Particle System
* As each block is mined, the VESSEL will generate a new particle system and color scheme, which will change the way the vessel is framed.
* That means if you look at your piece today, tomorrow, or next week, it will always show up differently.
* The density of the particle system, the total number of stars, and the speed of the orbitals is also affected by the **\[REDACTED]** blockchain trait.
